I’m so sorry Craig Newmark
Tonight marks the start of my job search, and I’m sitting in my living room, posting a link to hirethisman.com in the ‘resumes’ section of every Craigslist website for every American city. I highly doubt I’ll get significant results from my Craigslist postings. Has anyone ever actually gotten hired after posting their resume on Craigslist? It seems like such a longshot. In the San Francisco area alone, there are currently 6,755 resumes posted to Craigslist. Los Angeles has 2,891 resumes to choose from. Ithaca, in New York state, only has 1 resume posted, so I guess your odds of being noticed are slightly improved if you reside in Ithaca.
If you’ve found your way to my website via Craigslist, leave a comment for me down below; I’m curious to know how many employers are out there scowering through the Craiglist classifieds in search of employees.
Craig Newmark, if you’ve somehow found your way to my blog, then I’m truly sorry for posting an ad for my site to the resumes section of every Craigslist website for every American city. It’s just that I really want a job and your prolifically simple website is such a great marketing tool.
Craigslist is an okay launching pad for this little experiment of mine, but I know if I’m going to be truly successful in my job hunt, I’ll have to come up with a more original marketing approach. I’ll keep everyone up to date with my various campaigns as I go.
In other news, I picked up a CD today by a band who go by the name Arctic Monkeys. They’re not too bad. I had read about them a few weeks ago on some website, whose name now escapes me. I’ve got to give it a few more spins before I’ll consider committing it to the permanent shelf, but so far, I’m liking it.
